IN MEMORY – HEQI: A Handcrafted Memorial Tablet

Description

Searching for a meaningful Memorial Tablet that truly honors your loved one?

Many traditional options on the market can feel cold or impersonal. We understand how hard it is to find a resting place that feels like a warm, fitting tribute. That is why we created the HEQI spirit tablet.

Designed by Architects, Crafted with Empathy

We are a dedicated group of professionals with backgrounds in architecture. At URNURN, we believe that design should offer comfort to the living and dignity to those who have passed.

For the HEQI design, our team found profound inspiration in ancient East Asian architecture. We spent months in research and development, obsessing over the aesthetics and proportions. Furthermore, we handcraft every single piece to ensure it meets our strict standards. You can learn more about our design philosophy from our team of architects.

A Short Story from Our Studio

When we first sketched the IN MEMORY series, we asked ourselves: How do we create a beautiful container for the meaning of life? One of our designers brought up the ancient Chinese “Fu Jie” (tally) culture. Historically, a tally was a token split in two. One half stayed with you, and the other went far away. When brought together, they formed a whole.

This simple, powerful idea became the soul of the HEQI tablet. We want your loved ones to rest in peace, while giving you a tangible way to feel that your bond remains unbroken across time and space.

The Poetic Meaning Behind HEQI

We infuse deep cultural meaning into our designs. To help you understand the heart behind this spirit tablet, here are the core concepts driving our design, translated into English:

• 开则为契，合则为信
Open it to reveal a promise; close it to seal your trust.
This refers to our magnetic two-piece structure. The act of opening and closing the tablet becomes a personal ritual of remembrance.
• 两片相合，藏念纳光
Two halves unite, holding memories and gathering light.
This signifies the physical hollow space inside the tablet, specifically designed to protect your most cherished keepsakes.
• 一心永契，封存温度
One heart forever bound, preserving the warmth of life.
Our ultimate goal is to ensure the tablet does not feel like a morbid object, but rather a warm, comforting sanctuary.

Key Features of the HEQI Spirit Tablet

Every detail serves a specific purpose. Here is what makes the HEQI tablet unique:

• Premium Materials: Handcrafted from warm Ginkgo wood (sourced from Tianmu Mountain) and rich Black Walnut. The texture is elegant and soothing to the touch.
• Magnetic Closure: The two-piece structure snaps clearly closed. Consequently, this provides a satisfying, respectful sound that adds to the ritual.
• Hidden Keepsake Chamber: A private hollow space inside. It is perfect for storing photos, handwritten letters, or a lock of hair.
• Dimensions: 90 x 70 x 265 mm (L x W x H). Note: Because these are handmade, slight measurement variations may occur. Lighting may also affect the exact wood color.

Frequently Asked Questions

What exactly can I place inside the hidden chamber?

The internal cavity is designed for small, deeply personal items. Customers often place handwritten notes, a small photograph, ashes, or a piece of jewelry that belonged to the departed.

Is this memorial tablet suitable for Western home decor?

Absolutely. While inspired by East Asian architecture, its minimalist, warm wood design blends seamlessly into modern Western and European homes. It looks beautiful next to a flower vase or a quiet corner of your living room.

How do I care for the Ginkgo and Walnut wood?

Simply wipe it gently with a dry, soft cloth. Avoid placing it in direct, harsh sunlight or highly humid areas to prevent the natural wood from warping.
